Question: What science ideas did you learn?
Answer: We learned many science ideas this week in science class. We started by confirming whether a paramecium is an animal cell and it is not though it shows the characteristics of a cell. We then observed a paramecium for the characteristics of life which we believe it showed. Then we started thinking about what an organism is. We had a debate whether a potato cell was an organism or not andwe found that the defition proving that a potato cell is not an organism is that an organism must be one or more cell able to survive on its own. As you can see we learned many science ideas this week in class.
Question: How did you learn these ideas?
Answer: We learned all these science ideas in many different ways. We did research for homework to find out if a paramecium is living. We used different methods of observation, video and microscope to observe the paramecium. Then we started brainstorming ideas on what an organism is. We debated over whether a plant or animal cell is an organism and the debate proved that that they are not organisms. Mr. Finley then told us in his infinite knowledge what a defition of an organism is. As you can see we learned these science ideas in many ways this week in science class.
Question: Why is it imoprtant to know these ideas(What real world application is there)?
Answer: There are many real world applications to what we learned in science class this week. Doing research is a nesscesary skill need for all age levels to understand what they are talking about. Observation is needed in many fields to notice differences and other things. Brain storming is always neede to get fresh ideas on an answer into circulation. Debates are good ways to argue and prove your point as correct. But a helping hand may sometimes be neede from somebody wiser than yourself. As you can see there are many real world applications to what we learn in science class.
