Question: What science ideas did you learn?

Answer: We learned many science ideas this week in class. We started the week nlearning about the structure of DNA such as the helixs and the base pairs. We learned that base pairs have certain bases that they are made up of and two of them go together. Then we played a game to learn about the fuction of DNA in a cell and we started learning the role of RNA. We researched and learned about the two kinds of RNA, messenger and transfer. We analyzed the parts of RNA and then compared it to DNA and we found that RNA has only one helix and one base. The next day we learned about transcription of the DNA to form RNA. We finished off the week when we looked at amino acid and the exact process of protein synthesis.

Question: How did you learn these ideas?

Answer: We learned these ideas in msny ways this week in class. We began the week reviewing homework and having a class discussion about what we thought DNA was. That night we had homework and we again had a class discussion about it. The next day we played a game which put the process of protein synthesis into a simpeler form which made it easier to learn. After that we had another class discussion which is always very helpful and finished off the day with research which is a vital skill in the real world. Finaly we finished the week with a kind of online step by step of protein synthesis either in pairs or with the class.

Question: Why is it important to know this idea (What real world application is there)?

Answer: There are many real world applications to what we do in science class. All of these science ideas will be vital in your school career and maybe your adult life depending on your job. The skill of self-research or homework for now will be needed throughout your life as a succsesful student and adult. Disscussions with others or co-workers later on will always be beneficial to the task at hand. Although being told something does not always work it is sometimes vital in life to be told what to do by others so you are able to learn. Finally games although ment to be a kind of break, can be helpful in learning througout your life.
