Q: What science ideas did you learn?
A: This week I learned many great ideas in science. I learned that that bacteria is definitly a living one celled organism. We learned what tests nedd to be preformed on the materials we recieved form the Community Health Department and how to test them. We started to make a decision on whether a virus is living or non-living. Finally we started to learn the parts of a microscope.
Q:How did you learn these ideas?
A: I learned these ideas in many ways. One way was in a class discusion about whether or not bacteria is living. Also Mr. Finley gave some lectures and confirmations after discussions to build on what we learned. We used small groups to learn from Mr. Seigan about microscopes and we used a activity workshhet. All of these methods were very affective in the learning process and should contiue to be used.
Q:Why is it important to know this idea?(What is the real world aplication)?
A: It is important to know these ideas for many reasons. If you want to be a doctor or scientist you will know what to look for in bacteria. A docter may need to study a blood sample through a microscope and knowing what bacteria looks like is helpful. Also if your studying particles in would help to know how a microscope works and runs. As you can see these ideas have many real world applications.
